CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
Warm up the engine, stop the engine and wait 5 minutes. The oil level should be between the dipstick's low level mark and full level mark.
If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.
Note
Do not fill with engine oil above the full level mark.
CHECK ENGINE OIL QUALITY
Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning.
If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.

| API grade SL, Energy-Conserving or ILSAC multigrade engine oil is recommended. SAE 5W-30 is the best choice for your vehicle for good fuel economy and good starting in cold weather. |
REMOVE ENGINE OIL PRESSUR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the engine oil pressure switch connector.
Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, remove the engine oil pressure switch.
INSTALL OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
Install the oil pressure gauge with the adapter.
WARM UP ENGINE
CHECK OIL PRESSURE
| Engine rpm | Oil pressure |
| 750 rpm | 30 kPa (0.3 kgf/cm2, 4.3 psi) or more |
| 3,000 rpm | 200 kpa (2.0 kgf/cm2, 28.4 psi) or more |
If the oil pressure is not as specified, repair the lubrication system.
INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
Remove the oil pressure gauge.
Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch.

Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, install the oil pressure switch.
Note
Do not start the engine within 1 hour after installation.
Connect the engine oil pressure switch connector.
