RADIATOR REMOVAL


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Note

    To avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Thermal expansion will cause hot engine coolant and steam to blow out from the radiator assembly.

      Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug, then drain the engine coolant.

      Tech Tips

      The cylinder block drain cock plug is positioned on the bottom edge of the timing chain or belt cover sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the radiator cap sub-assembly.

    3. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the engine side, then drain the engine coolant by bending the hose.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

  3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  4. REMOVE SUPPORT RH SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE SUPPORT LH SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. DISCONNECT COOLING FAN MOTOR CONNECTOR


    1. A0137TF

      Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector and the cooling fan motor connector clamp.

  7. DISCONNECT RADIATOR INLET HOSE

    1. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT RADIATOR OUTLET HOSE

    1. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the fan shroud.

      Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the radiator assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT CONDENSER ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)


    1. A0136TM

      Remove the 2 bolts and condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT CROSS MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A0138MG

      Remove the 6 bolts and front cross member subassembly.

  11. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the radiator assembly.

      Note

      Do not allow the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly to come into contact with each other.

      Disconnect the radiator reserve hose from the radiator assembly.

      Remove the fan assembly to the radiator assembly, engage the claw and bolt.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

      Remove the 2 radiator support cushions and 2 radiator lower supports from the radiator assembly.
