FUEL INJECTOR INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A0137XTE01

      Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline to a new O-ring, and install it to the injector.

    2. Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline to the place where the delivery pipe touches the O-ring.

    3. A0136U8E01

      Push the fuel injector while twisting it back and forth to install it in the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note


      • Be careful not to twist the O-ring.

      • After installing the fuel injector, check that it turns smoothly. If not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.

    4. Position the injector connectors so that they face upward.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE


    1. A0137PL

      Install the 3 fuel injector vibration insulators to the cylinder head.

    2. A0136QT

      Place the fuel delivery pipe and the 3 fuel injectors together to the cylinder head.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe.

    3. Temporarily install the 2 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe to the cylinder head.

      Note

      After installing the fuel injector, check that it turns smoothly. If not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.

    4. Tighten the 2 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe to the cylinder head.

      Torque:
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }
    5. A0136WAE02

      Connect the 3 ignition coil connectors.

    6. Connect the 3 injector connectors and wire harness.

    7. Connect the 2 clamps and wire harness.

      Push in the tube connector to the pipe until the tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      Note


      • Check if there is any damage or foreign objects on the connected part of the fuel pipe.

      • After connecting, check that the fuel tube connector and the pipe are securely connected by pulling on them.

    9. Install the fuel pipe clamp.

    10. Connect the fuel earth cable to the heater hose pipe.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A0137CCE02

      Install the air cleaner and air cleaner cap with the clamps.

    2. Tighten the 4 clamps.

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS


    1. When using the intelligent tester.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and intelligent tester main switch on.

        Note

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Select the Active Test mode on the intelligent tester.

        Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

    2. Check that there are no fuel leaks anywhere on the fuel system after doing maintenance.
