RELAY BLOCK INSPECTION

  1. INSPECT ENGINE COMPARTMENT RELAY BLOCK

    1. Inspect the EFI MAIN relay.

      A0137I1E01

      1. Disconnect the EFI (15 A) fuse. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Resistance
        Terminals Specified condition
        EFI fuse terminal 2 ←→C2 Below 200 Ω
EFI fuse terminal 2 ←→C5 10 kΩ or higher
      2. A0136O4E01

From the battery, connect the positive (+) lead to EFI fuse terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C2.Using a voltmeter, check the voltage by connecting the positive (+) tester probe to terminal C5 and the negative (-) tester probe to terminal C2.

        Note

While using the battery for inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

        Voltage
        Terminals Specified condition
        C2←→C5

        Battery voltage

(Apply battery voltage between terminals EFI fuse 2 and C2)

    2. Inspect circuit opening relay

      1. Disconnect the EFI (15 A) fuse. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Resistance
        Terminals Specified condition
        C1 ←→D10 Below 200 Ω
        C5 ←→D11 10 kΩ or higher
      2. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals C5 and D11 when battery voltage is applied between the terminals. From the battery connect the positive (+) lead to terminal D10 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C1.

        Note

While using the battery for inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

        Resistance
        Terminals Specified condition
        C5←→D11

        Below 1 Ω

(Apply battery voltage between terminals C1 and D10)
