ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT E.F.I. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR


    1. A0135WEE01

      Check the resistance.


      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        1 - 2 2.32 to 2.59 kΩ at 20°C (68°F)
        1 - 2 0.310 to 0.326 kΩ at 80°C (176°F)

        If the resistance is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.

        Note

        While inspecting the engine coolant temperature sensor as shown in the illustration, do not immerse terminals on the sensor in water. After the inspection, wipe the water off the engine coolant temperature sensor so that the terminals do not get wet.
