SFI SYSTEM (w/ Electronic Throttle Control System) DTC CHECK / CLEAR

  1. CHECK DTC

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

    4. Check DTCs and freeze frame data, and then write them down.

      Tech Tips

If you need help when using the intelligent tester, refer to the instruction manual.

    5. Confirm the details, referring to the DTC chart.

  2. FREEZE FRAME DATA

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

    4. Select a parameter(s) to check the freeze frame data.

    5. Note down the DTC(s) and freeze frame data.

      Tech Tips

If you need help when using the intelligent tester, refer to the instruction manual.

  3. CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA (using the intelligent tester)

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (do not start the engine) and turn the tester on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Clear.

    4. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data by pressing the YES button on the tester.

      Tech Tips

If you need help when using the intelligent tester, refer to the instruction manual.

  4. CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA (not using the intelligent tester)

    1. Remove the EFI fuse from the engine room relay block for more than 60 seconds, or disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal for more than 60 seconds. When disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal, perform the "initialize" procedure.
