DESCRIPTION

The TCM communicates with the ECM through the Controller Area Network (CAN). If there is a problem in this communication, the TCM sets the DTC.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TCM - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the TCM connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard Resistance
      Table 1. for 1KD-FTV
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O3-21 (CAN+) - D71-24 (CAN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-20 (CAN-) - D71-18 (CAN-) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-21 (CAN+) or D71-24 (CAN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O3-20 (CAN-) or D71-18 (CAN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      O3-21 (CAN+) - B7-22 (CAN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O3-20 (CAN-) - B7-21 (CAN-) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE TCM


    1. Replace the TCM.

      Note:

      Replace the TCM with a TCM from a normally functioning vehicle of the same model.


  3. Click here

    CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC U0100/A2)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    3. Turn on the tester.

    4. Clear the DTC (Click here).

    5. Turn the ignition switch off and turn the tester off.

    6. Start the engine and turn on the tester.

    7. Select the item: "Power train / ECT / DTC / Current or Pending".

    8. Read the DTCs using the intelligent tester.

      Tip:

      When not using the intelligent tester, refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR (Click here).
