DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL GAUGE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the ATF level gauge sub-assembly.
DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
Remove the drain plug, the gasket , and drain the ATF.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 bolts and transmission oil filler tube sub-assembly.
Remove the O-ring from the oil filler tube sub-assembly.
REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the 19 bolts and oil pan sub-assembly.
Install the blade of SST between the transmission case and oil pan, cut off applied sealer and remove the oil pan.
Note
When removing the oil pan, be careful not to damage the oil pan flange.
Remove the 3 magnets from the oil pan.
Examine particles in pan.
Remove the magnets and use them to collect steel particles. Carefully look at the foreign matter and particles in the pan and on the magnets to anticipate the type of wear you will find in the transmission. Steel (magnetic) ... bearing, gear and clutch plate wear Brass (non-magnetic) ... bushing wear
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 bolts and oil strainer.
Remove the 3 gaskets from the oil strainer.
SEPARATE TRANSMISSION WIRE
Separate the ATF temperature sensor connector and shift solenoid valve connectors.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY
Remove the 20 bolts and valve body assembly.
REMOVE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE
Remove the bolt and shift solenoid valve S1 and S2.
Remove the bolt and shift solenoid valve SL.
Remove the bolt, solenoid lock plate and shift solenoid valve SLT.
Remove the O-rings from the shift solenoid valves (S1, S2, SL).
