Note

Turn the ignition switch off for 60 seconds before performing the following inspections:


  1. INSPECT LIGHTING TIME OF GLOW INDICATOR LIGHT


    1. A01BCGAE01

      Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and measure the lighting time.

      Lighting time
      Refer to the graph.

  2. INSPECT PRE-HEATING


    1. A01BI14E01

      Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, measure the time when the battery voltage is applied to the glow plugs.

      Pre-Heating time
      Engine coolant temperature Pre-Heating time
      40°C or more 1 sec.
      Less than 40°C Refer to the graph (15 sec. at the longest)

    2. Turn the ignition switch to the START position, and check that the battery voltage is applied to the glow plugs.

    3. While cranking the engine, measure the time when the battery voltage is applied to the glow plugs.

      Pre-Heating time
      Engine coolant temperature Pre-Heating time
      40°C or more 1 sec.
      Less than 40°C Refer to the chart graph (15 sec. at the longest)

  3. INSPECT AFTER GLOW TIME


    1. Remove the glow relay.

    2. A01BFVUE01

      After the engine starts, measure the length of time that battery voltage remains present.

      Standard After Glow Time
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      2 - Body ground Refer to the graph above*1

      *1: After glow time changes depending on atmospheric pressure and engine coolant temperature.

    3. Install the glow relay.
