  1. INSPECT COOLING FAN RELAY (FAN 1)


    1. A01BAK4E07

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan relay.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN RELAY (FAN 2)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      Battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan relay.

  3. INSPECT NO. 1 COOLING FAN MOTOR

      (No. 1 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Current
      Item Condition Specified Condition
      No. 1 cooling fan motor 20°C (68°F) 17 to 23 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 cooling fan motor.

  4. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR

      (No. 2 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    2. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.

      No. 2 cooling fan motor 20°C (68°F) 17 to 23 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

  5. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (RADIATOR)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 20 °C (68 °F) 2.32 to 2.59 kΩ
      1 - 2 80 °C (176 °F) 0.310 to 0.326 kΩ

      Note

      If checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water to intrude into the terminals. After checking, clean off water on the engine coolant temperature sensor.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
