| DTC Code | DTC Name |
|---|---|
| P0657 | Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open |
DESCRIPTION
The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. The output voltage is usually 0 V when the ignition switch is turned off. If the output voltage is higher than 7 V when the ignition switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC when the ignition switch is turned to ON.
| DTC No. | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area |
|---|---|---|
| P0657 | There is a throttle actuator power supply error (1 trip detection logic). | ECM |
MONITOR STRATEGY
| Required sensors/Components | ECM |
| Frequency of operation | Once per driving cycle |
TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS
| Ignition switch | From ON to off (Temporary Fail ON) |
| Throttle actuator power supply | ON |
CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.
Wait 5 seconds or more.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the pending DTCs.
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
Input the DTC: P0657.
Check the DTC judgment result.

If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
After turning ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Click here).
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
