DESCRIPTION

While the engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal ST2 of the ignition switch to the ST fuse and also flows to terminal STA of the ECM (STA signal).

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING STARTER SIGNAL


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the intelligent tester ON.

    3. Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine / Data List / Starter Signal.

    4. Read the values.

      Standard
      Ignition Switch Position ON START
      Starter Signal OFF ON

    OK
    NG
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STARTER RELAY - ECM)


    1. A01BFWCE01

      Disconnect the B9 ECM connector.

    2. Remove the ST relay from the engine room J/B and R/B No.1.

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      B9-7 (STA) - R/B ST relay terminal 1 Below 1 Ω
      B9-7 (STA) or R/B ST relay terminal 1- Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
