PURGE VALVE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT PURGE VSV


    1. Check the VSV for an open circuit.


      1. A017DHCE03

        Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        1 - 2 23 to 26 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

        1 - Body ground

        2 - Body ground

        		 10 MΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV.

    2. Check operation of the VSV.


      1. A017E3JE01

        Check that air does not flow from the port F as shown in the illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV.

      2. Apply battery positive voltage across the terminals.

      3. A017G30E01

        Check that air flows from the port F as shown in the illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the VSV.
