DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via the CAN communication system.

The yaw rate sensor has a built-in acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle condition.

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, the DTCs U0123 (Lost Communication with Yaw Rate Sensor Module) and U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) are output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note:
  • When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Click here).

  • Before proceeding with the inspection, explain to the customer that the vehicle driving record shows that the vehicle was driven on a bank at an angle of 30°, and confirm that this condition occurred.

Tip:

When U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with C1440, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 first (Click here).

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) again and check that no CAN communication system DTC is output (Click here).

    4. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more, turn the steering wheel, and decelerate the vehicle (depress the brake pedal) and check that no yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTCs are output (Click here).

      Tip:

      DTC C1440 may have been stored because the vehicle was driven on a bank at an angle of 30°or more.

    CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly (Click here).

      OK
      The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
      The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.
      Tip:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (Click here).
