Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.


  1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT LEVELING SWITCH

    Component without harness connected

    (Headlight Leveling Switch)

    1. Check the voltage.


      1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (E).

      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Switch Position

        Specified Condition

        (Battery voltage is 12 V)
        5 (B) - 2 (T) 0 9.48 to 10.2 V
        1 8.06 to 8.78 V
        2 6.77 to 7.37 V
        3 5.23 to 5.95 V
        4 3.82 to 4.54 V
        5 2.40 to 3.12 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight leveling switch.

      Illumination Inspection.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the connector and check the illumination condition.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight leveling switch.
