B2799/99 Engine Immobiliser System Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) the ECM detects errors in its own communications with the transponder key ECU; 2) the ECM detects errors in the communication lines; or 3) the ECU communication ID between the transponder key ECU and ECM is different and an engine start is attempted. Before troubleshooting for this DTC, make sure no transponder key ECU DTCs are present. If present, troubleshoot the transponder key ECU DTCs first.

  1. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

    1. Check for DTCs.

      OK
      DTC B2799/99 is not output.

    OK
  3. REGISTER ECU COMMUNICATION ID


    1. Register the ECU communication ID.


    NEXT
  4. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.


    NEXT
  5. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs.

      OK
      DTC B2799/99 is not output.

    NG
    OK
  6. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR


    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

    2. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the ECM and transponder key ECU.

      OK
      Connectors are properly connected.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - ECM)


    1. A01BEY6E03

      Disconnect the H60 transponder key ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the B7*1 or B47*2 ECM connector.


      • *1: 2TR-FE, 1TR-FE, 2KD-FTV

      • *2: 1KD-FTV

    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance (Check for open)

    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    5. Reconnect the transponder key ECU connector.

    1. Temporarily replace the ECM with a new one.
