If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the ECM and cancels cruise control system control of vehicle speed.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise control indicator illuminates in amber*1


  • Cruise control indicator light goes out and a warning message is displayed*2


  • Open or short in stop light switch circuit

  • Problem with vehicle speed signal

Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control main switch.

  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit

Ignition switch is turned off and back to ON again.
Cruise control indicator remains illuminated in green (Cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled) Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approximately 40 km/h [25 mph]) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed Cruise control main switch is pushed to +/RES
Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (10 mph) or more Cruise control main switch is pushed to -/SET
Cruise control indicator light goes out
  • There is a problem with the throttle with motor body assembly*3

  • There is a problem with the fuel injector*4

Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control main switch.
