DESCRIPTION

The front airbag sensor LH consists of the diagnostic circuit, the frontal deceleration sensor, etc.

If the center airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the frontal deceleration sensor, it determines whether or not the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1615/14 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the front airbag sensor LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. A01BH9UE01

      Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    2. Clear the DTCs stored in memory Click here.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    5. Check the DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B1615/14 is not output.

      Tech Tips

      Codes other than DTC B1615/14 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

  2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS


    1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Check that the connector is properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly and the front airbag sensor LH.

      OK
      The connectors are connected.

  3. CHECK FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH CIRCUIT (OPEN)


    1. A01BDWYE01

      Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly and the front airbag sensor LH.

    2. Using a service wire, connect B4-30 (+SL) and B4-28 (-SL) of connector "B".

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminals of the connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  7. CHECK FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH


    1. A01BEPKE01

      Connect the connectors to the center airbag sensor assembly.

    2. Interchange the front airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.

    3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory Click here.

    6. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

    7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    8. Check the DTCs Click here.

  8. CHECK ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE (OPEN)


    1. A01BHJQE01

      Disconnect the engine room main wire connector from the wiring cowl to headlight harness assembly.

      Tech Tips

      The service wire has already been inserted into connector "B".

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
