INSTALL VANE PUMP HOUSING OIL SEAL
Coat a new vane pump housing oil seal lip with power steering fluid.
Using SST and a press, install the vane pump housing oil seal to the front vane pump housing.
Note
Make sure that the vane pump housing oil seal is installed in the correct direction as shown in the illustration.
INSTALL VANE PUMP SHAFT BEARING
Using a snap ring expander, install the vane pump shaft snap ring to the vane pump shaft.
Wrap the serration of the vane pump shaft with protective tape.
Using a press, install the vane pump shaft to the new vane pump shaft bearing.
CAUTION:
Do not damage the vane pump shaft bearing.
Make sure that the vane pump shaft bearing inner race sits on the V-blocks.
INSTALL VANE PUMP GEAR
Using SST and a press, install the vane pump shaft to the vane pump gear.
Tech Tips
Press on the vane pump shaft until the end faces of the shaft and vane pump gear become level.
Using SST and a press, install the vane pump shaft to the front vane pump housing.
Tech Tips
Press on the vane pump shaft until the snap ring groove of the front vane pump housing can be seen.
Install snap ring to the front vane pump housing.
INSTALL VANE PUMP FRONT SIDE PLATE
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it into the front vane pump housing.
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it onto the front vane pump side plate.
Align the dent of the front vane pump side plate with that of the front vane pump housing, and install the front vane pump side plate.
Note
Make sure that the front vane pump side plate is installed in the correct direction as shown in the illustration.
INSTALL VANE PUMP CAM RING
Align the dent of the vane pump cam ring with that of the front vane pump side plate, and install the vane pump cam ring with the inscribed mark facing upward.
Note
Make sure that the cam ring is installed in the correct direction.
INSTALL VANE PUMP ROTOR
Coat the vane pump rotor with power steering fluid.
Install the vane pump rotor.
Tech Tips
The vane pump rotor has no specific direction.
Coat all 10 vane pump plates with power steering fluid.
Install the vane pump plates with the round end facing outward.
Note
Make sure that the vane pump plates are installed in the correct direction.
INSTALL VANE PUMP REAR HOUSING
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it onto the rear vane pump housing.
Align the straight pin of the rear vane pump housing with the dents of the vane pump cam ring, front vane pump side plate and the front vane pump housing, and install the rear vane pump housing with the 4 bolts.
INSPECT TOTAL PRELOAD
Check that the pump rotates smoothly without abnormal noise.
Temporarily install the service bolt.

Using a torque wrench, check the rotating torque.

If rotating torque is not as specified, check the installation condition of each part.
INSTALL FLOW CONTROL VALVE
Coat the compression spring and the flow control valve with power steering fluid.
Install the compression spring and the flow control valve.
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it onto the pressure port union.
Install the pressure port union to the front vane pump housing.
INSTALL SUCTION PORT UNION
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the suction port union.
Install the suction port union to the front vane pump housing with the bolt.
