PARKING BRAKE LEVER REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE PLUNGER ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply MP grease to 2 new parking brake pawls and 2 pins.

    2. Install the 2 parking brake pawls and springs to the parking brake plunger guide.

    3. Install the 2 parking brake pawl pins.

      Holding one side of the parking brake pawl pin with a metal block, tap the other side with a hammer to stake it.

      Note

      Do not damage the plunger guide.

    5. A01BDPR

      Using a screwdriver, install a new parking brake bush to the parking brake plunger guide.

      Note

      Do not damage the plunger guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

      Move the 2 parking brake pawls (A) to release the lock, and push in the parking brake plunger assembly (B) as shown in the illustration.

    7. A01BB7QE01

      Install a new parking brake plunger anti-rattle to the parking brake plunger assembly.

    8. A01BFQME01

      Using a hammer, install the parking brake plunger pin in the position shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Install the plunger pin parallel to the parking brake switch bracket.

  2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO.1


    1. A01BGMU

      Install the parking brake cable assembly No.1 to the bracket.

    2. A01BGAIE01

      Move the parking brake pawl (A) to release the lock, and push in the parking brake plunger assembly as shown in the illustration (B).

    3. A01BC5QE01

      Connect the parking brake cable assembly No.1 to the parking brake plunger assembly.

    4. Install the bracket to the parking brake plunger guide.

      Apply MP grease to the parking brake wire pawl pin.

    6. Push the parking brake wire pulley as shown in the illustration, install the parking brake wire pawl pin.

      Install the clip to the parking brake wire pawl pin.

      Install the clip.

    9. A01BCPGE01

      Install the parking brake switch.

      Torque:
      8.8 N*m  { 90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf }

      Install the parking brake plunger protector.
