1KD-FTV VACUUM PUMP REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP BEARING


    1. A01BH8F

      Using a press, press in a new vacuum pump bearing to the vacuum pump shaft.

  2. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP SHAFT

      Using SST and a press, press the vacuum pump shaft into the vacuum pump housing.

    2. A01BACAE01

      Using snap ring pliers, install a new snap ring.

      Note

      Make sure that the snap ring is firmly installed in the groove.

  3. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP GEAR


    1. Install the woodruff key and vacuum pump gear to the vacuum pump shaft with the gear lock nut.

    2. A01BH60

      Fix the vacuum pump gear in a vise between aluminum plates.

      Note

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    3. Fully tighten the gear lock nut.

      Torque:
      110 N*m  { 1125 kgf*cm, 82 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP BLADE


    1. Apply engine oil to the vacuum pump rotor.

    2. A01BDTBE01

      Install the vacuum pump rotor to the vacuum pump shaft.

    3. Apply engine oil to 5 new vacuum pump blades.

    4. Install the 5 vacuum pump blades with the round end facing outward.

      Note


      • Make sure that the vacuum pump blades are flush with the rotor surface.

      • Install the vacuum pump blades with round end touching the inner surface of the vacuum pump housing.

  5. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP END COVER


    1. Place the vacuum pump in a vise between aluminum plates.

    2. Apply engine oil to 2 new O-rings.

    3. Install the 2 O-rings.

    4. Install the vacuum pump end cover and temporarily install the 3 bolts.

      Using a 5 mm pin punch and hammer, tap in the 2 straight pins.

    6. A01BH91

      Fix the vacuum pump in a vise between aluminum plates.

      Note

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    7. Fully tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL CHECK VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BHR1

      Install a new gasket and the check valve.

      Torque:
      74 N*m  { 749 kgf*cm, 54 ft.*lbf }

  7. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP UNION


    1. A01BEG1E01

      Install 2 new gaskets and vacuum pump union with the union bolt.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 140 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Check that the stopper of the vacuum pump union is securely held on the vacuum pump.

  8. INSPECT VACUUM PUMP


    1. A01BHHK

      Turn the vacuum pump gear counter-clockwise (left-hand turn, viewed from the gear side) and check for improper movement or torque change.
