TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE INSTALLATION


  1. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BA67E01

      Rolled up the floor carpet of the front seat LH and connect the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 70 in.*lbf }
    2. A01BA7KE02

      Connect the cable end to the shift lock control unit.

      Note


      • Securely install the cable end until fits securely against the base of the pin.

      • Install the cable and with the protrusion facing the front of the vehicle.

    3. A01BE5LE03

      Install the outer cable of transmission control cable to the shift lock control unit.

      Note


      • Connect the cable outer with the protrusion on the bottom.

      • Ensure that the groove on the cable outer is securely fitted to the shift control unit housing.

      • Ensure that the spring is positioned as shown in the illustration.

      • There is to be the spring of position as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER


    1. A01BB5ME01

      Engage the 8 claws and install the instrument panel finish panel lower center.

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER


    1. A01BF1ME01

      Engage the 6 claws and install the parking brake hole cover.

  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER


    1. A01BHMVE01

      Engage the 4 clips (B).

    2. Install the instrument panel finish panel lower with the 2 clips (A).

  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1


    1. A01BE86E01

      Engage the 3 claws.

    2. Install the instrument panel No.1 under cover sub-assembly with the 2 clips.

  6. INSTALL SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BF5BE01

      Manual Transmission:

      Engage the 6 claws and install the shifting hole cover assembly.

    2. Automatic Transmission:

      Engage the 8 claws and install the sifting hole cover assembly.

  7. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB

  8. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BCGLE01

      Install the transmission control cable bracket No.2 to the under body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control cable bracket No.2.

    3. A01BBI2E01

      Install the transmission control cable assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
    4. A01BDE0E01

      Install the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever and transmission control cable bracket No.1 with a clip and the nut.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 150 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  9. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. A01BDE0E02

      Remove a clip, nut, and disconnect between the control shaft lever to transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever and transmission control cable bracket No.1.

    2. A01BBPPE05

      Turn the control shaft lever until stop to a clockwise direction, return the control shaft lever 2 notches to N position.

    3. A01BEYV

      Set the shift lever to N position while holding the shift lever lightly toward the R position side and install it.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 150 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Tighten the nut with it closing up cranky.

    4. Inspect the operation condition and work.

  10. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. When shifting from P position only with ignition switch ON and depress the break pedal.

    2. Make sure that the shifting lever moves smoothly and can be moderately operated.

    3. When starting engine, make sure that the vehicle moves forward when shifting from N to D position and moves reward when shifting R position.

  11. INSTALL ENGINE SIDE UNDER COVER LH

  12. INSTALL ENGINE SIDE UNDER COVER RH

  13. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.2 (dummy dummy)

  14. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1
