DESCRIPTION

TCM intercommunicates with ECM through the Controller Area Network (CAN). If there is a problem in this intercommunication, the TCM sets the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TCM - ECM)


    1. A01BEIKE01

      Disconnect the TCM connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance.

      Standard resistance
      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      O3-21 (CAN+) - B7-22 (CAN+) Below 1 Ω
      O3-20 (CAN-) - B7-21 (CAN-)
      O3-21 (CAN+) or B7-22 (CAN+) - Body ground 10 KΩ or higher
      O3-20 (CAN-) or B7-21 (CAN-) - Body ground

    OK
  2. REPLACE TCM


    1. Replace the TCM.

      Note

      Replace the TCM with a TCM from a normally functioning vehicle of the same model.

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC U0100/A2)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    3. Turn on the tester.

    4. Clear the DTC Click here.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off and turn the tester off.

    6. Start the engine and turn on the tester.

    7. Select the item: "Power train / ECT / DTC / Current or Pending".

    8. Read the DTCs using the intelligent tester.
