ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST

  1. DATA LIST

    Tech Tips

Using the Intelligent Tester Data List allows switch, sensor, actuator and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the Data List early in troubleshooting is one way to shorten labor time.

    Note

In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    1. Warm up the engine.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Connect the Intelligent Tester to the DLC3.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    5. Turn on the tester.

    6. Select the item "Enter / Power train / ECT / Data List".

    7. Follow the instructions on the tester and read the Data List.

      Input Turbine Speed/

      display: 50 r/min

      Tech Tips

      • Lock-up ON (warmed up engine, other than O/D):

Input Turbine Speed (NCO) is equal to engine speed

      • Lock-up ON (warmed up engine, O/D):

Input Turbine Speed (NCO) is 0 rpm

      • Lock-up OFF (Idling with shift lever on N):

Input Turbine Speed (NCO) is nearly equal to engine speed

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

Performing the Intelligent Tester Active Test allows relay, Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV), actuator and other items to be operated without removing any parts. Performing the Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to shorten labor time. The Data List can be displayed during the Active Test.

    1. Warm up the engine.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Connect the Intelligent Tester to the DLC3.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

    5. Turn on the tester.

    6. Select the item "Enter / Power train / ECT / Active Test".

    7. Follow the instructions on the tester and perform the Active Test.
