OIL PUMP REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR


    1. A01BD13E01

      Place the timing gear case on wooden blocks.

      Note

      Do not damage the timing pointer.

    2. Insert the drive and driven gears into the timing gear case with the marks facing the oil pump cover side.

    3. A01BC16E01

      Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the screws.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent

    4. Install the oil pump cover with the 8 screws.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 105 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE


    1. Insert the relief valve and spring into the installation hole of the timing gear case.

    2. A01BHZYE02

      Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install a new gasket and the plug.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL


    1. A01BBBSE02

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal to the depth of 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) from the oil pump case edge.

    2. Apply MP grease to the oil seal lip.
