COOLING FAN SYSTEM INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COOLING FAN RELAY


    1. A01BGLPE01

      Measure the resistance


      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard resistance
        Terminals Specified condition
        Terminal 1 - Terminal 2 175 Ω
        Terminal 3 - Terminal 5 10 kΩ or higher

      2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 3 and 5 when battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 of the relay.

        Standard resistance
        Below 1Ω

  2. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Check that the motor turns smoothly when the battery is connected to the fan motor connector.

    2. Using an ammeter, measure the current while the motor is turning.

      Standard
      17 to 23 A (20°C, 68°F, 12V)
