CLEARANCE WARNING ECU INSTALLATION

INSTALL CLEARANCE WARNING ECU
1. Connect the connector.
2. Install the clearance warning ECU with the nut.
INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the all connectors.
2. Install the instrument panel assembly with the 4 bolts <A>, 2 screws <B> and 2 nuts <D>.
INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
INSTALL ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY
INSTALL FRONT ASSIST GRIP PLUG
INSTALL HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY
INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
1. Engage the clamps and claws, and install the front passenger airbag assembly.
2. Install the instrument panel passenger airbag with the 2 bolts.
  
  Torque:
  
  18 N*m { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
3. Connect the airbag connector.
4. Install the airbag connector to the reinforcement.
INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the heater control base with the 2 screws.
2. Engage the 2 claws to install the defroster damper control cable sub-assembly.
3. Engage the 2 claws to install the boost ventilator control cable sub-assembly.
4. Install the clamp.
5. Install the connector.
6. Engage the 9 clips to install the air conditioner panel sub-assembly.

1. Engage the 8 claws and install the instrument panel finish panel lower center.
INSTALL SHIFTING HOLE COVER ASSEMBLY
1. Manual Transmission:
  
  Engage the 6 claws and install the shifting hole cover assembly.
2. Automatic Transmission:
  
  Engage the 8 claws and install the sifting hole cover assembly.
INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB
INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER
1. Engage the 6 claws and install the parking brake hole cover.
INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1
1. Engage the 3 claws.
2. Install the instrument panel No.1 under cover sub-assembly with the 2 clips.
INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER
1. Engage the 4 clips (B).
2. Install the instrument panel finish panel lower with the 2 clips (A).
INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
INSTALL STEREO OPENING COVER
1. Install the radio tuner opening cover with bracket with the 4 screws <C>.
INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER ASSEMBLY
1. Install the instrument panel cup holder assembly with the 3 screws <C>.
INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
1. Connect the connector and engage the 2 claws.
2. Install the combination meter assembly with the 2 screws <B>.
INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Engage the 6 claws and install the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

1. Install the wiper switch with the claw.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Slide the steering column cover upper upward to install the wiper switch.
2. Connect the connector.
INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
1. Install the headlight dimmer switch with the claw.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  Slide the steering column upper cover upward to install the headlight dimmer switch.
2. Connect the connector.
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER UPR
INSTALL KEY CYLINDER LIGHT ASSEMBLY
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR
INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
2. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.
  
  CAUTION:
  
  After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
3. Rotate the spiral cable with steering sensor counterclockwise slowly by hand until it feels firm.
  
  Note
  
  Do not turn the spiral cable with steering sensor by the airbag wire harness.
4. Rotate the spiral cable with steering sensor clockwise approximately 2.5 turns to align the marks.
  
  Note
  
  Do not turn the spiral cable with steering sensor by the airbag wire harness.
  
  Tech Tips
  
  The spiral cable with steering sensor will rotate approximately 2.5 turns to both the left and right from the center.
INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
1. w/o AIRBAG:
  1. Position the horn contact plate so that the projecting parts are as shown the illustration.
2. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and the steering column assembly.
3. Install the nut.
  
  Torque:
  
  50 N*m { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
4. Connect the connectors.
INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
1. Support the steering pad with one hand.
2. Connect the connector to the steering pad.
  
  Note
  
  When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
3. Connect the horn connector.
4. Confirm that the circumference groove of the "torx" screw fits in the screw case, and place the steering pad onto the steering wheel assembly.
5. Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), tighten the 2 "torx" screws.
  
  Torque:
  
  8.8 N*m { 90 kgf*cm, 78 in.*lbf }

CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
1. Perform a diagnostic system check. Click here
2. With the steering pad removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the steering pad or steering wheel assembly with a new one:
  - Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the steering pad top surface or in the grooved portion.
  - Cracks or other damage to the connectors.
  - Deformation of the steering wheel assembly.
  - Deformation of the horn button contact plate of the steering pad.
  - There should be no interference between the steering pad and steering wheel assembly, and the clearance should be uniform all the way around when the new steering pad is installed on the steering wheel assembly.
  CAUTION:
  
  For removal and installation procedures of the steering pad, be sure to follow the correct procedure.
