DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends the park/neutral position switch assembly signals to the clearance warning ECU.

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BGUNE30

      Remove the park/neutral position switch assembly Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      6 (PL) - 2 (RB) Shift lever in P Below 1 Ω
      1 (RL) - 2 (RB) Shift lever in R Below 1 Ω
      6 (PL) - 2 (RB) Shift lever not in P 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (RL) - 2 (RB) Shift lever not in R 10 kΩ or higher

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - BATTERY)


    1. A01BH7CE01

      Disconnect the D37 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D37-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      D37-2 (RB) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH)


    1. A01BHSFE01

      Disconnect the H54 clearance warning ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the D37 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H54-23 (RL) - D37-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      H54-7 (PL) - D37-6 (PL) Always Below 1 Ω
      H54-23 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H54-7 (PL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
