ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR

    1. Remove the engine oil level sensor with the connector still connected.

    2. Measure the resistance when the sensor temperature is between 60°C (140°F) or higher.

      Standard Resistance (Gasoline engine)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D11-1 - D11-2 Float position: top Below 1 Ω
      D11-1 - D11-2 Float position: bottom 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (Diesel engine)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D12-1 - D12-2 Float position: top Below 1 Ω
      D12-1 - D12-2 Float position: bottom 10 kΩ or higher

      Tech Tips

      If the value is not as specified, replace the engine oil level sensor.
