WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

  1. NOTICE THE FOLLOWING WHEN CHECKING

    1. Wireless door LOCK/UNLOCK function:

      1. This function operates only when the following 3 conditions are met.

        • No key is in the ignition key cylinder.

        • All the doors are closed.

        • The power door lock system is functioning normally.

        Tech Tips

The UNLOCK function operates even when one of the doors is open.

    2. The wireless transmitter operating range may differ depending on the situation as follows:

      1. The operating range will differ depending on the user, the way the transmitter is held and the location.

      2. In certain areas, the operating range will be reduced due to the vehicle body shape and the influence of the surrounding environment.

      3. The transmitter's faint electric waves may be affected if the area has strong electric waves or noise. The transmitter's operating range may be shortened or the transmitter may not function.

      4. When the battery is weakened, the operating range is reduced and the transmitter may not function.

        Tech Tips

If the transmitter has had prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the battery may be weakened or other problems may occur.

  2. CHECK TRANSMITTER BATTERY

    1. Check that the door control transmitter light comes on 3 times when the LOCK switch is pressed 3 times.

  3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK FUNCTIONS

    Tech Tips

    • The switches described below transmit signals and are built into the door control transmitter.

    • The operating range must be taken into account when any checks are being made.

    1. Make sure that the vehicle is in a condition in which the wireless control functions can operate.

    2. Check the basic functions.

      1. Check that all the doors lock when the LOCK switch is pressed.

      2. Check that all the doors unlock when the UNLOCK switch is pressed.

    3. Check the chattering prevention function.

      1. Check that pressing a switch will result in the switch operation occurring only once. Check that the operation is not repeated continuously when the switch is held down. Also make sure that when the switch is pressed at intervals of approximately 1 second, the switch is activated once for every press.

    4. Check the automatic locking function.

      1. Check that if all the doors are unlocked with the UNLOCK switch and none of the door are opened or locked within approximately 30 seconds, the doors will automatically relock.

      2. Check that if all the doors are unlocked with the UNLOCK switch and a door is opened or locked within approximately 30 seconds, the automatic locking function does not operate.

    5. Check the switch operation fail-safe function.

      1. Check that the doors cannot be locked by the LOCK switch while the key is in the ignition key cylinder. However, this does not apply when the system is in the recognition code registration mode.

    6. Check the answer-back function.

      1. When the LOCK switch is pressed, confirm the simultaneous occurrence of a hazard warning light flash and an all-door lock operation.

      2. When the UNLOCK switch is pressed, confirm the simultaneous occurrence of 2 hazard warning light flashes and an all-door unlock operation.
