DESCRIPTION
The swirl control valve and the VSV for swirl control valve are mounted on the intake manifold.
The ECM determines the opening angle of the swirl control valve, and uses the VSV for swirl control valve to change the vacuum applied to the actuator's diaphragm to open and close the swirl control valve.

Tech Tips
Read freeze frame data using an intelligent tester. Freeze frame data record the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data, from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2006)
Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester ON.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.
Read DTCs.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ACTIVATE THE VSV FOR SWIRL CONTROL VALVE)
Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the VSV for swirl control valve.
Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester ON.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the VSV for Swirl Control Valve.
Check the VSV operation when it is operated using the intelligent tester.

Remove the integration relay (MAIN relay) from the No.1 engine room R/B and J/B.
Check the resistance.

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P2006)
Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester ON.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine / DTC / Clear.
Clear DTCs.
Start the engine and warm it up.
Accelerate the engine from idling to 3,000 rpm or more at least 3 times.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine / DTC.
Read DTCs.
