FUEL FILTER REMOVAL

Tech Tips

When replacing the filter, use TOYOTA genuine parts or equivalent parts.


  1. REMOVE FUEL TANK CAP ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ELEMENT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01BD7I

      Disconnect the clogging switch connector and level warning switch connector.

    2. except Cold Area Specification Vehicles:

      Disconnect the 2 fuel hoses.

    3. for Cold Area Specification Vehicles:

      Disconnect the 4 fuel hoses.

    4. Loosen the fuel filter drain plug and drain the fuel from the fuel filter.

    5. Tighten the fuel filter drain plug.

      Using a screwdriver as a lever, loosen the fastener nut until it can be loosened by hand.

      Fully loosen the fastener nut by hand.

      Tech Tips

      Loosen the fastener nut until the fuel filter cap can be removed.

    8. A01BETW

      To remove the fuel filter cap, pull up one side of the fuel filter cap and then lift it off, as shown in the illustration.

    9. Remove the fuel filter element from the fuel filter case.

    10. Remove the O-ring from the fuel filter case.
