SFI SYSTEM (w/o Secondary Air Injection System) Fuel Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The fuel injectors are located on the cylinder head. They inject fuel into the cylinders based on the signals from the ECM.

  1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE)

    1. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D24-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      D25-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      D26-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  2. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL INJECTOR - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      D24-2 - D97-86 (#10) Always Below 1 Ω
      D25-2 - D97-85 (#20) Always Below 1 Ω
      D26-2 - D97-84 (#30) Always Below 1 Ω

      D24-2 or D97-86 (#10) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D25-2 or D97-85 (#20) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.

    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Remove the No. 2 integration relay from the instrument panel relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
