FUEL SYSTEM PRECAUTION

CAUTION:


  • Before inspecting and repairing the fuel system, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

  • Do not smoke or work near fire when handling the fuel system.

Tech Tips

Keep light oil away from rubber or leather parts.


  1. FUEL SYSTEM


    1. Observe the following precautions when disconnecting the fuel tube connector (Quick type A):


      1. Check for dirt in the pipe around the connector before disconnecting. Clean away the dirt as necessary.

      2. A01BFLU

        Be sure to disconnect the connectors by hand.

      3. When the connector and the pipe are stuck, pinch the fuel pipe between two fingers, and push and pull the connector to disconnect it. Do not use any tools.

      4. Check for dirt or other foreign objects on the surface of the seal on the disconnected pipe and clean as necessary.

      5. Do not damage the disconnected pipe and connector.

      6. Cover the disconnected pipe and connector with a plastic bag to prevent intrusion of foreign objects.

    2. Observe the following precautions when connecting the fuel tube connector. (Quick Type A):


      1. A01BB99E07

        Check for damage or foreign objects in the connected part of the pipe.

      2. A01BHN3E07

        Match the axis of the connector with the axis of the pipe, and push into the connector until the connector makes a "click" sound. If the connection is excessively tight, apply a small amount of fresh engine oil to the tip of the pipe.

    3. After connecting, check that the pipe and the connector are securely connected by pulling them.

    4. Observe the following precautions when disconnecting the fuel tube connector. (Quick Type B):


      1. A01BE4TE06

        Check if there is any dirt in the pipe around the connector before disconnecting them and clean the dirt away as necessary.

      2. Be sure to disconnect them by hand.

      3. When the connector and the pipe are stuck, pinch the fuel pipe between two fingers, and push and pull the connector to disconnect it. Do not use any tools.

      2. A01BHGR

        Match the axis of the connector with the axis of the pipe, and push into the connector until the connector makes a "click" sound. If the connection is excessively tight, apply a small amount of fresh engine oil to the tip of the pipe.

      3. After connecting, check that the pipe and the connector are securely connected by pulling them.

  2. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK
