WINDSHIELD GLASS INSTALLATION


  1. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS


    1. Using a cleaner, clean the weatherstrip contacting surface of the body and glass.

  2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install the windshield weatherstrip to the windshield glass.

  3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS

      Apply a working cord along the weatherstrip groove, as shown in the illustration.

      *a Primer

      Apply primer to the weatherstrip on the surface with body as shown in the illustration.

      *a Adhesive Coated Area

      Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle to make a hole 4 mm (0.18 in.) in diameter. Fill the cartridge with adhesive.

    4. Load the cartridge into the sealer gun.

    5. Coat the glass with adhesive on all contact surfaces along the ridge.

      Approx.
      4.0 mm (0.18 in.)

    6. Apply adhesive to the contact area with the weatherstrip by the arrows as shown in the illustration.

    7. Put masking tape around the weatherstrip to protect the body.

      Begin installation in the middle of the lower part of the glass.

    9. Hold the glass in position on the body.

    10. A01KIPW

      From the inside, pull one cord at an angle so it pulls the lip over the flange. From the outside, press the glass along the weatherstrip until the glass is installed.

    11. To make the glass fit snugly, tap from the outside with your open hand.

  4. WATER LEAK CHECK AND REPAIR


    1. Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.

    2. Seal any leaks with sealant.
