HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH (for Light Control Switch) REMOVAL


  1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

  2. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  3. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY (W/O SRS AIRBAG)

    1. Non-Tilt Column Assembly:


      1. Remove the 2 screws and horn button assembly.

      2. Disconnect the horn button connector.

    2. Tilt Column Assembly:


      1. Remove the screw and horn button assembly.

      2. Disconnect the horn button connector.

  4. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY (W/ SRS AIRBAG)

      Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.

    2. Using a torx socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 torx screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.

      Pull out the wheel pad from the horn button assembly.

    4. Disconnect the airbag connector and horn connector and remove the horn button assembly.

  5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Place matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and main shaft assembly.

    3. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

  6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR

    1. Remove the clip, 2 screws and steering column cover LWR.

  7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER UPR

    1. Remove the 2 screws and steering column cover UPR.

  8. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness clamps.

      Remove the 4 screws and turn signal switch assembly.

  9. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (W/ SRS AIRBAG)

      Remove the 3 screws, separate the headlamp dimmer switch assembly from the turn signal switch assembly.

    2. Remove the 4 screws, connector and cord clamp, separate the spiral cable sub-assembly from the turn signal switch assembly.

      *2 Wire harness Clamp

      Remove the 2 wire harness clamps and vinyl tape then remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE LIGHT CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY NO.1

      Remove the code clamp.

    2. A01KGNK

      Remove the 3 claws.

    3. Release the headlight dimmer switch assembly from combination switch assembly.

    4. A01KHLM

      Remove the cancel cam.

    5. A01KGLM

      Remove the 2 screws.

    6. A01KGD9

      Shift the lever to the "Hi" position and remove the plate and steel ball.

    7. Slide the light control switch assembly in the center direction, unlock and remove it.

      Remove 2 wire harness clamps and tape. (w/o SRS airbag)

      Remove 2 wire harness clamps and 2 tapes. (w SRS airbag)

      Release lock from connector.

      Using a precision screwdriver, unlock the connector terminals.

    12. Pull out the connector terminals and remove the headlight dimmer switch assembly.
