WIPER SWITCH INSPECTION

      Continuity Check


      1. Check the continuity of each terminal of the connector.

        Front Wiper Switch
        Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
        OFF A3 (+1) - A9 (+S) Continuity
        INT A3 (+1) - A9 (+S) Continuity
        LO A6 (+B) - A3 (+1) Continuity
        HI A6 (+B) - A8 (+2) Continuity
        Front Washer Switch
        Switch position Tester connection Specified condition
        OFF - No continuity
        ON A7 (E) - A1 (WF) Continuity

    2. Intermittent Operation Check (Front Wiper)


      1. Connect the voltmeter (+) terminal to terminal A3 (+1) of the connector, the voltmeter (-) terminal to terminal A1 (WF) of the connector.

      2. Connect the battery (+) to terminal A6 (+B) of the connector, the battery (-) to terminal A1 (WF) and A9 (+S) of the connector.

      3. Turn the wiper switch INT.

      4. Connect the battery (+) to terminal A9 (+S) of the connector for 5 seconds.

      5. Connect the battery (-) to terminal A9 (+S) of the connector, Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check voltage between terminal A3 (+1) and terminal A1 (WF).

      Operation Check (Front Washer)


      1. Turn the wiper switch OFF.

      2. Connect the battery (+) to terminal A6 (+B) of the connector, the battery (-) to terminal A9 (+S) and A1 (WF) of the connector.

      3. Connect the voltmeter (+) terminal to terminal A3 (+1) of the connector, the voltmeter (-) terminal to terminal 1 (WF) of the connector. Turn the washer switch ON and OFF and check voltage between terminal A3 (+1) and terminal A1 (WF).
