DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 airbag sensor assembly consists of the G sensor, diagnostic circuit, and communication circuit, etc.

The No. 2 airbag sensor assembly detects impacts applied to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine whether or not the SRS parts should be deployed.

DTC B160A/39 is recorded in the memory when a malfunction is detected in the No. 2 airbag sensor assembly.

  • Once the cause of the trouble has been eliminated, clear the DTCs which were stored during troubleshooting and then check for DTCs to confirm whether the system is sound Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK NO. 2 AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    *2 No. 2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
    *3 Airbag ECU Assembly

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Temporarily replace the No. 2 airbag sensor assembly with a new one or with one with the same part number which is working correctly.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Click here.

    7. Turn the ignition switch off.

    8. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTCs B160A and 39 are not indicated.
