B0102/11 Short to GND in Driver Side Squib Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The D squib circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly, spiral cable sub-assembly and horn button assembly.

It causes the SRS to deploy when the SRS deployment conditions are satisfied.

DTC B0102/11 is recorded when a ground short is detected in the D squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK D SQUIB CIRCUIT (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY-HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY)

      Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

    2. Disconnect the connector between the airbag ECU assembly and the horn button assembly.

    3. For the connector (on the spiral cable sub-assembly side) between the spiral cable sub-assembly and the horn button assembly, measure the resistance between D+ and body ground.

      OK
      Resistance: 1 MΩ or Higher

  2. CHECK AIR BAG ECU ASSEMBLY

      Connect the connector to the airbag ECU assembly.

    2. Using SST, connect D+ and D- of the connector (on the spiral cable sub-assembly side) between the spiral cable sub-assembly and the horn button assembly.

    3. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 seconds.

    5. Clear the DTC stored in memory Click here.

    6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 seconds.

    7. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 60 seconds.

    8. Check the DTC Click here.

      OK
      DTC B0102/11 is not output.

  3. CHECK D SQUIB

      Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

    2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

    3. Connect the horn button assembly connector.

    4. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 seconds.

    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 60 seconds.

    7. Clear the DTC stored in memory Click here.

    8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 seconds.

    9. Clear the DTC Click here.

      OK
      DTC B0102/11 is not output.

      Disconnect the connectors of the cowl wire.

    2. For the connector (on the spiral cable sub-assembly side) between the airbag ECU assembly and the spiral cable sub-assembly, measure the resistance between D+ and body ground.
