  1. INSTALL REAR HEATER ASSEMBLY

    A01KFU5E01

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Temporarily install the rear heater assembly with the 3 bolts and the nut.

    3. Uniformly tighten the bolts and nut in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf, for bolts }
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf, for nut }
    4. Return the floor carpet to its original position.

  2. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    A01KI47

    1. Install the rear door scuff plate LH with the 3 screws.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

    1. Slowly fill the system with coolant.

      • Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system.

      • Use "Toyota Long Life Coolant" or equivalent and mix it with plan water according to the manufacturer's directions.

      • Using of coolant which includes more than 50 % [freezing protection down to -35°C (-31°F)] or 60 % [freezing protection down to -50°C (-58°F)] of ethylene-glycol is recommended but not more than 70 %.

      Note

      • Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone.

      • The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water or distilled water).

    2. Reinstall the radiator cap.

    3. Start the engine, and bleed the cooling system.

    4. Refill the radiator reservoir with coolant until it reaches the "full" line.

  4. CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS

    1. Fill the radiator with coolant and attach a radiator cap tester.

    2. Warm up the engine.

    3. Pump it to 118 kPa (1.2 kgf/cm2, 17.1 psi), and check that the pressure does not drop.

      If the pressure drops, check the hoses, radiator or water pump for leaks. If no external leaks are found, check the heater core, cylinder block and head.
