VANE PUMP (for 1KD-FTV) DISASSEMBLY


  1. FIX VANE PUMP

      Using the SST, fix the vane pump in a vise between aluminum plates.

  2. REMOVE POWER STEERING SUCTION PORT UNION

      Remove the bolt and the suction port union from the vane pump front housing.

    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the suction plate port union O-ring from the suction port union.

  3. REMOVE FLOW CONTROL VALVE

      Using a socket wrench (27mm), remove the pressure port union from the vane pump front housing.

    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the pressure port union O-ring from the pressure port union.

    3. Remove the flow control valve from the vane pump front housing.

    4. Remove the flow control valve compression spring from the vane pump front housing.

  4. REMOVE VANE PUMP REAR HOUSING

      Remove the 4 bolts and the vane pump rear housing from the vane pump front housing.

      Tech Tips

      If the vane pump rear housing cannot be removed easily, tap the vane pump rear housing with a plastic-faced hammer to remove it.

    2. Remove the vane pump rear housing O-ring from the vane pump rear housing.

  5. REMOVE VANE PUMP ROTOR


    1. Remove the 10 vane pump plates from the vane pump rotor.

    2. Remove the vane pump rotor from the vane pump shaft.

  6. REMOVE VANE PUMP CAM RING


    1. Remove the vane pump cam ring from the vane pump front side plate.

  7. REMOVE VANE PUMP FRONT SIDE PLATE


    1. Remove the vane pump front side plate from the vane pump front hosing.

      Remove the O-ring from the vane pump front side plate.

    3. A01KF16

      Remove the O-ring from the vane pump front housing.

  8. REMOVE VANE PUMP GEAR

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its wrapped in protective tape, remove the vane pump hosing snap ring from the vane pump front hosing.

    2. Apply protective tape to the serrated part of the vane pump shaft.

      *2 Protective Tape

      Using a press, remove the vane pump gear together with the vane pump shaft with bearing.

      Note

      Do not drop the vane pump gear.

      Install the bolt onto the vane pump shaft.

      Recommended service bolt:
      Thread diameter 10 mm (0.3937 in.)
      Thread pitch 1.25 mm (0.0492 in.)

    5. Using SST and press, remove the vane pump gear from the vane pump shaft.

  9. REMOVE VANE PUMP SHAFT BEARING

      Using SST and a press, remove the vane pump shaft bearing from the vane pump shaft.

      Using a snap ring expander, remove the vane pump shaft snap ring from the vane pump shaft.

  10. REMOVE VANE PUMP HOUSING OIL SEAL

      Using SST, remove the vane pump housing oil seal from the vane pump front housing.
