STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Click here

  3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  4. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY (W/O SRS AIRBAG)

    1. Non-Tilt Column Assembly:


      1. Remove the 2 screws and horn button assembly.

      2. Disconnect the horn button connector.

    2. Tilt Column Assembly:


      1. Remove the screw and horn button assembly.

      2. Disconnect the horn button connector.

  5. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY (W/ SRS AIRBAG)

  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Place matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and main shaft assembly.

    3. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

  7. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER UPR

    1. Remove the 2 screws and steering column cover UPR.

  8. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LWR

    1. Remove the clip, 2 screws and steering column cover LWR.

  9. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connectors and wire harness clamps.

    2. A01KGRY

      Remove the 4 screws and turn signal switch assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH


    1. Remove the 4 screws and front door scuff plate.

  11. REMOVE STEERING MAIN SHAFT ASSEMBLY (RIGID FRONT SUSPENSION)

    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

      Place matchmarks on the steering main shaft assembly and power steering gear assembly after lifting steering main shaft.

  12. DISCONNECT STEERING SLIDING W/COUPLING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION)

    1. Remove the 4 bolts.

      Place matchmarks on the steering sliding w/coupling yoke sub-assembly and bevel gear assembly after lifting steering sliding w/coupling yoke sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and clamp bracket.

      Remove the 4 steering column assembly set bolts and steering column assembly.

  14. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN TUBE LOWER


    1. Remove the steering column tube lower from the steering column tube cover.

  15. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN TUBE COVER


    1. Remove the steering column tube cover from the steering column assembly.

  16. REMOVE MAIN SHAFT LOWER DUST COVER


    1. Remove the main shaft lower dust cover from the steering column tube lower.

      Only in case of removal, this will be performed.
