REAR BRAKE (for Leading Trailing Shoe Type) REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL REAR WHEEL CYLINDER CUP KIT

    A01KETJ

    1. Apply the lithium soap base glycol grease to 2 new wheel cylinder cups and the 2 pistons.

    2. Install the 2 wheel cylinder cups to each piston.

    3. Install the compression spring and 2 pistons to the wheel cylinder.

    4. Install are 2 new cylinder dust boots to the wheel cylinder.

  2. INSTALL LH, FRONT OR UPPER REAR WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the wheel cylinder with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    2. Using union nut wrench 10 mm, connect the brake tube.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL REAR BRAKE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the parking brake shoe lever with a new C-washer.

  4. INSTALL REAR BRAKE AUTOMATIC ADJUST LEVER LH


    1. Install the rear brake automatic adjust lever with a new E-ring.

    2. Install the tension spring.

  5. INSTALL REAR BRAKE SHOE


    1. Using needle-nose pliers, connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake shoe lever.

    2. Using SST, install the rear brake shoe with the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.

  6. INSTALL FRONT BRAKE SHOE


    1. Connect the shoe return spring and adjuster to the rear brake shoe.

    2. Using SST, install the front brake shoe with the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.

    3. Using SST, connect the tension spring to the front and rear brake shoe.

      Note

      Do not damage the wheel cylinder boot.

  7. CHECK REAR DRUM BRAKE INSTALLATION
