REAR BRAKE (for Leading Trailing Shoe Type) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using SST, disconnect the return spring.

      Using SST, remove the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.

    3. Disconnect the anchor spring from the front brake shoe and remove the front brake shoe.

    4. Remove the anchor spring from the rear brake shoe.

    5. Remove the return spring and adjuster from the rear shoe.

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE

    1. Using SST, remove the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.

    2. Using pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever and remove the rear brake shoe.

  3. REMOVE REAR BRAKE AUTOMATIC ADJUST LEVER LH

    1. Remove the tension spring.

    2. Remove the E-ring.

    3. Remove the automatic adjust lever.

  4. REMOVE REAR BRAKE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the C-washer.

    2. Remove the parking brake shoe lever.

  5. REMOVE LH, FRONT OR UPPER REAR WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Using union nut wrench 10 mm, disconnect the brake line. Use a container to catch the brake fluid.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and wheel cylinder.

  6. REMOVE REAR WHEEL CYLINDER CUP KIT


    1. Remove the 2 cylinder boots from the wheel cylinder.

    2. Remove the 2 wheel cylinder piston and compression spring.

    3. Remove the piston cup from the each piston.
