ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ABS Warning Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

If the ECU detects trouble, it lights the ABS warning light while at the same time prohibiting ABS control. At this time, the ECU records a DTC in memory.

Connect terminals Tc and CG of the DLC3 to make the ABS warning light blink and output the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Troubleshoot in accordance with the chart below for each trouble symptom.

ABS warning light does not light up Go to step 1
ABS warning light remains ON

Tech Tips

Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the intelligent tester and start from step 2 in case of not using intelligent tester.

PROCEDURE


  1. DO ACTIVE TEST OF ABS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light can be shown on the combination meter on the intelligent tester.

    CHECK AND REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

    NG

  2. CHECK WARNING LIGHT (EXCEPT ABS WARNING LIGHT)


    1. Check whether the other warning lights (except ABS warning light) turn on for approx. 3 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.


    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS, CONNECTOR OR GAUGE FUSE

    OK

  3. CHECK ABS WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

    2. Disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.

    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    4. Check the ABS warning light goes on.

    CHECK AND REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - SKID CONTROL ECU)


    1. Check for short circuit in harness and connector between combination meter and skid control ECU Click here.
