FRONT BRAKE REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    Do not let brake fluid remain on a painted surface. Wash it off immediately.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the union bolt and gaskets from the disc brake cylinder, then disconnect the flexible hose.

      Tech Tips

      Gasket has 2 types: 2-piece type and 1-piece type.

      Remove the 2 bolts and brake cylinder sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the disc brake heat insulator. (RFS)

  4. REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Remove the 2 anti-squeal spring.

    2. Remove the 2 brake pads with anti-squeal shim.

    3. Remove the anti-squeal shim from the outer pad.

    4. Remove the 2 pad wear indicator plates from each pad.

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (RIGID FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Remove the 2 brake pads with anti-squeal shim.

    2. Remove the anti-squeal shim from the outer pad.

    3. Remove the 2 pad wear indicator plates from each pad.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE

  7. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE

  8. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH

  9. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH

  10. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT (INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the 4 bush dust boots from the disc brake cylinder.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT (RIGID FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Remove the 4 bush dust boots from the disc brake cylinder.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH (INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder mounting.

  13. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH (RIGID FRONT SUSPENSION)


    1. Remove the 3 bolts and disc brake cylinder mounting.
