REAR AXLE SHAFT (for Double Tire) REMOVAL

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH


    1. A01KETI

      Remove the 6 nuts and washers.

    2. A01KIOM

      Using a brass bar and a hammer, remove the 6 cone washers.

    3. A01KGE9

      Install the 2 service bolts, and turn each by turns.

    4. Remove the rear axle shaft LH.

    5. Remove the 2 service bolts from the rear axle shaft LH.

  2. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT GASKET LH


    1. Remove the rear axle shaft gasket LH.

  3. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH OIL SEAL

      Using SST, remove the rear axle shaft oil seal LH.

  4. INSPECT REAR AXLE SHAFT LH


    1. A01KGJ6

      Using a dial indicator, inspect the rear axle shaft runout.

      Maximum runout
      0.8mm (0.031 in.)

      If the runout is greater than maximum, replace the rear axle shaft.
