REAR AXLE SHAFT (for Single Tire) REASSEMBLY

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.

INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH OIL SEAL
1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal.

2. Apply MP grease to the oil seal lip.
INSTALL REAR AXLE BEARING CASE LH
1. Position the backing plate on a new bearing case, and using 2 socket wrenches, install the serration bolts.
INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH BEARING
1. Using SST, install a new rear axle shaft bearing LH.

INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT OUTER OIL SEAL
1. Ring gear size 8:
  1. Using SST and a hammer, install the rear axle oil seal outer.

2. Ring gear size 9.5:
  1. Using SST and a hammer, install the rear axle oil seal outer.

3. Apply MP grease to the oil seal lip.
INSTALL REAR AXLE LH HUB BOLT
1. Position a new gasket and oil deflector on the axle shaft and install a washer and nut to a new hub bolt, as shown in the illustration, and install the hub bolt by torquing the nut.

1. Install the backing plate and bearing retainer on the rear axle shaft.
2. Using SST and a press, install the rear axle shaft into the backing plate.

INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH SNAP RING
1. Using a snap ring expander, install the rear axle shaft snap ring.
INSTALL SKID CONTROL ROTOR REAR (W/ABS)
1. Using SST and a press, install the rear skid control rotor and retainer.
