REAR AXLE SHAFT (for Single Tire) REMOVAL

Tech Tips

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  3. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM

  4. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE

  5. REMOVE STRUT SET, PARKING BRAKE SHOE, LH

  6. REMOVE REAR BRAKE AUTOMATIC ADJUST LEVER LH

    1. Remove the tension spring.

    2. Remove the E-ring.

    3. Remove the automatic adjust lever.

  7. REMOVE REAR BRAKE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE LH, FRONT OR UPPER REAR WHEEL BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Using union nut wrench 10 mm, disconnect the brake line. Use a container to catch the brake fluid.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and wheel cylinder.

  9. SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR REAR LH (W/ABS)

  10. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT W/BACKING PLATE


    1. A01KI55

      Remove the 4 nuts.

    2. Pull out the rear axle shaft with backing plate from the rear axle housing.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the oil seal.

    3. Remove the rear axle bearing case O-ring LH.
