ADJUST PRELOAD
Remove the rear tire.
Remove the rear axle shaft.
Using SST, retorque the lock nut.
Snug down the bearing by turning the hub several times.
Using SST, loosen the lock nut by until it can turned hand.

Using a spring tension gauge, measure the preload at the hub bolt.

Tech Tips
Within the specified preload, align a lock nut mark with an axle housing mark.
If preload is not within the specification, repeat the procedure above.

Measure the distance between the top surface of axle housing and the lock nut.

If not within the specification, reinstall the axle hub.
INSPECT AXLE HUB AXIAL PLAY
Using a dial indicator, check the axle hub axial play.

Install the rear axle bearing lock nut screw.
